Privacy

Cuemira is a private, free tool for fitness instructors. The app runs in your browser and stores your data on your device.

In short
  • Your playlists, notes, settings, music, videos and PDFs stay on your device.
  • On installation and updates, the app version is reported once, anonymously – no device data, identifier or cookie. Can be switched off.
  • No advertising, no tracking, no cookies, no Cuemira accounts.
  • If you connect a cloud (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive), your device talks directly to that provider – I receive nothing from it.

Accessing the app (hosting)

Cuemira is hosted by STRATO AG (Berlin). When you open the app, your browser sends technically necessary information to the server – in particular your IP address, the date and time, the file requested and the browser identifier (user agent). STRATO stores this information in server logs to ensure operation and security, and deletes it after a short time. I do not analyse these logs.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working service). A data processing agreement is in place with STRATO.

Anonymous version report

When Cuemira is installed on a device or updated to a new version, the app reports the version number (e.g. “4.0.0”) to my server once, and whether it is a new installation or an update. All this produces is a counter per month and version (“Version 4.0.0: 25 installations”). This lets me see how many devices use Cuemira and whether updates are arriving.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in assessing how widely the app is used and how up to date it is). You can object at any time by switching the report off.

Data on your device

Cuemira stores playlists, notes, learning progress and settings, as well as music, videos and choreo notes you add, in your browser’s storage on your device. This data is not transferred to me. You can delete it at any time – in the app or via your browser’s site data. A backup (“💾 Back up”) is a file that you save yourself.

Optional cloud connection

You can connect Cuemira to your own account with Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive – for example to fetch releases or to sync playlists, notes and learning progress between your devices with “☁ My devices”. Sign-in takes place directly with the provider; files and access keys are exchanged exclusively between your device and that provider and are stored only on your device. I receive nothing from it. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies:

Sharing playlists

When you share a playlist, it is contained in full (names and tracks) in the link or QR code. It is not stored on my server; you decide yourself how you pass it on (e.g. WhatsApp).

Feedback

Using “💬 Feedback” you can choose to send me a message. What is transmitted: your text, any images you attach (screenshots), your name and email address – only if you enter them – plus the app version, language and device type (Android, iPhone/iPad, PC or studio tablet). Optionally, the device (e.g. Android tablet) and operating system version are added – the app suggests them, and you can change them or leave them empty. The message is stored on my web space at STRATO (not accessible from outside) and delivered to me by email. The purpose is to fix bugs, improve the app and – if you give an email address – to reply to you (legal basis: your consent by sending, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). To prevent abuse, only a limited number of messages per device or internet connection is accepted per hour; this uses a check value that changes daily and cannot be traced back – your IP address is not stored. On your own devices (not on a studio tablet) your feedback gets a random ticket number with a key that only your device knows: the app uses it to check at most twice a day whether I have replied and shows you the reply – no further data about you is transmitted or stored for this. I delete feedback including the reply once it has been dealt with, at the latest after twelve months. Please don’t send screenshots showing names or data of other people.

Links to other services

Links, for example to Les Mills or music services (Spotify, Apple Music and others), open their websites or apps. Only then do their privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. As I do not store any data that can be attributed to you, there is usually nothing to disclose – but you are still welcome to write to me. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
